The Garden Report

Anyone ever had tomato plants whos blooms wouldn't set? I've got a dozen plants in the ground 9 doing awsome. Three of the plants are healthy and large, but have no fruit due to the blooms falling off. I was told by an old farmer in Westminster (yes where the tornado hit) that there is a product called "bloom-set" that you spray on the blooms and it keeps them from falling off, therefore producing fruit and finally tomatoes. We don't want to use the product because it would render the garden "non organic" and we can't have that.

The squash and okra are doing great! We're at the point again where we cannot eat all of the harvest, so we will soon begin wondering around to the neighbors to ask them if they like vegetables. (I've always wanted to be one of those neighbors)

Peppers are mediocre. Lots of jalapenos that we won't use except in pico or salsa because they are so freaking hot, and the bells are small so far.

So that's the garden report for this Friday. Happy planting.
