5 String King
The writings, ravings and sometimes shallowdeep thoughts of a musician, tv producer, radio announcer and commercial writer. Although this site is mostly of a content toward music and technology, I really think that bluegrass, the Food Network, rollerball pens and garlic make the world go round. I also think we are in the midst of technological revolution that is changing the way we do things faster than we realize. Keep watching, there's film at eleven.

Quick Update
I have a number of big things going on right now. I've got to fly out tomorrow, be back the next day, thus my lack of attention to my sites. I know I posted this excuse last time as well, but I should be able to start adding more stuff next week, please stay tuned.
The Dallas Guitar Show is today and tomorrow. Make it out if you can. It's at Market Hall. It should be a good one. I'm also playing this coming Saturday at the Chrystal Opry in White Mound (Hwy. 902 between Howe and Tom Bean, Texas). The band Clear Blue will make the headline that evening. I'm actually making myself play this one so that I can be sure and catch them. Check out their clips at (www.clearbluegrass.com).
Beautiful weather earlier in the week let Ms. and I put our garden in. We planted enough tomatoes and squash to give away to neighbors. This weekends sunshine makes for a good "boost" for the plants.
Come see us, and have a great weekend!

"Let Me Say a Big Howdy...
to all of my friends and neighbors out there."
- Lester Flatt.
I've gotten really busy the past few and haven't posted anything on either site. If you read me from time to time and have checked in to see that, then thanks.
The guitar show in Dallas is coming up next weekend .(www.guitarshow.com). Blue Moon Music has a booth again this year and I'll be hangin' out there for while Saturday. These shows are always a treat as you never know what coming up. There are always a lot of great Fender pieces, Gibson, PRS, and such, but it's the acoustic instruments that get me more interested. Last year I found a Leo Fender 5 string. It had spent most of it's life in the back room of a music store in the original case. The banjo was built around 1975 and was awesome! Blue Moon ended up buying it because I was having a fit over it. They sold it the very next week at the store in Fayetteville.
If you have never been to the show, you should go. This year is back at Market Hall Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 21st - 23rd.

DOBRO
I recieved my new Johnson today. What a great sounding dobro! It's sunburst, has the original factory strings so they need replacing. I had to hone down the 2nd string nut slot to fix a buzz. It really has a big sound. I'm taking it on because the Sausage Kings need that addition to some of our slower efforts, and it's good for my head.

Blogburst
By invitation "5 String King" and my newest endeavor "DFW Acoustics" are now listed on Pluck's Blogburst. We get our message out about Texas and acoustic style music to thousands of readers via feeds to the Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, San Antonio Express News, The Houston Chronicle and more! By the way, visit DFW Acoustics, and if you've got something of interest, leave your feedback. The more information I have listed over there, the better it is.
